Dr. Alice Sinia

Entomologist
Dr. Alice Sinia is a Consulting Entomologist and Pest Management Specialist based in Milton, Ontario Canada. She also works as resident entomologist for Orkin Canada. Having worked in the industry for over 15 years, Dr. Sinia has extensive experience and knowledge in pest and vector control; in particular mosquito control. She was very instrumental in the developmental of mosquito management program for Orkin Canada in combating the West Nile Virus. She has undertaken several mosquito research projects focusing on effective and alternative methods of controlling mosquitoes. Dr. Sinia is active member of the pest control industry where she collaborates actively with researchers in the pest control industry. She frequently contributes pest related articles to various Canadian professional magazines and on-line publications. She has attended and presented at various conferences both international and National. Prior to moving to Canada in 1997, Dr. Sinia worked as District entomologist in Uganda and before joining Orkin Canada in 2003, she worked as Urban Vector Control Biologist with the City of Port Coquitlam, in Vancouver BC from 1999 to 2002. Her main interest is medical, structural and urban entomology- pest management and the application of integrated strategies to Manage Pest populations (IPM). Dr. Sinia received her Bachelor’s of Science degree (B.Sc.) from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda, and Master’s Degree in Pest Management (MPM) from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and PhD from the University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario Canada.

Gerrardo Ulibarri

An Associate Professor of Chemistry at Laurentian Univeristy, Dr. Ulibarri first became interested in developing a mosquito trap when he had an encounter with a patient whom had contracted the West Nile Virus. Understanding that there must be a better way to exterminate Mosquitoes other than fogging streets with harmful insecticides, Dr. Ulibarri and a team of Researchers from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, helped develop and test the Mosquito Preventer. Creating one of the most effective Mosquito Control units in the world.

A Graduate of Humber College’s Landscape Design Program, Carson serves as a regular on Canadian and American daytime talk shows, sharing landscape and garden tips to millions of North Americans . With international coverage, Carson has become a voice of environmentally friendly landscape design on a global scale. By addressing outdoor challenges with a keen sense of style and a passion for eco-consciousness, Carson continues to reinvent the definition of gardening. With his first series, Room To Grow, Carson created inspired outdoor spaces for homeowners and taught a generation of viewers how to increase their own living spaces by expanding outside. Carson takes pride in where he lives and what he does. As the spokesperson for both the Canadian Diabetes Association and for BluePlanet Environmentals, Carson has made the most of his television career to date by being active in helping to develop a better understanding of green living within a social context. When not in the dirt; building, planting or creating, Carson keeps himself busy with his own lines of patio furniture and gardening tools and as the principle designer for Carson Arthur Designs.

Kacee Vasudeva

Kacee immigrated to Canada in September 1971 and gained experience in various industries before starting up Maxtech, which he started in his garage, and building it into a $100 million group of six automotive manufacturing plants. Since 2005, Kacee and Dr. Ulibarri have been working together to develop a Mosquito trap that effectively reduces the Mosquito population. Ten years and 2 million dollars later, Kacee is proud to present the Mosquito Preventer. Kacee is committed to fight against Mosquito-borne diseases.
